What this desk does not claim
It has not used HeyGen, Synthesia or D-ID. No trial account, no avatar trained on anyone's face, no footage, no test of its own, and no sentence anywhere on this site that implies otherwise.
That goes first because it changes how everything else here should be read, and because burying it would be the same move this site spends its comparison pages documenting other people making.
What it worked out instead
The three platforms that publish a plan table do not bill in the same unit. HeyGen caps the length of one video and never rations the month. Synthesia and D-ID ration the month and never cap a video.
Their headline prices are therefore not comparable as published. Divide each plan by the output it permits and they become comparable, which is the one number this desk actually produced.
Cost per finished minute, across the published plans
The lowest bar carries a personal use license, so it is not available for business video at all. That single row is why a comparison needs a license column, and why a headline price is not an answer.
Why only three tools
Because three publish a full plan table anyone can read without an account, and that is the condition of entry here. A tool that quotes rather than publishes may be excellent and cannot be compared, cited or re-checked six months later.
It costs this desk coverage and it is what makes the rest of the site checkable. Every figure here can be re-derived by a reader with the same public pages and about ten minutes.
